Awoleye Oluwatofunmi, 23, is a Nigerian internet fraudster who goes by the username Yahoo Boy. He is accused of luring American citizen Vonapolouis Moss to Nigeria and defrauding her of $1, 000. Oluwatofunmi conned his American victim of US$ 1, 000 by posing as Howard Adams on the social media app TikTok, according to police reports. On January 9, 2023, he tricked Moss X flying into Nigeria, where he met I Lagos’s Murtala Mohammed International Airport.
Paul Odama, the Commissioner of Police for Kwara State, presented the suspect to the media on Friday in Ilorin. The Commissioner revealed that prior to the online fraudster’s arrest on the basis of actionable intelligence, the victim and the suspect had flown into Ilorin the following day.
However, the CP claimed that prior to the victim being saved by law enforcement, the suspect had also fraudulently stolen an undisclosed sum of money from her. He went on to say that the relevant authorities have been notified so that suitable action can be taken.
He continued by saying that, as she waits to return to the US, Vonapolouis Moss has been placed under guard by the State Police Command.
