See The Shocking End Of 3 Traffickers Who Poisoned A Woman After Selling Her Twins For N3m In Enugu
Three individuals suspected of child trafficking- Ukorie Cynthia, Onyia Pauline, and Aroh Ijeoma- have been apprehended by the Enugu State Police Command. Their alleged crimes involve trafficking newborn twins and the murder of the babies’ mother.
According to a statement released on Friday, August 26, by DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the spokesperson for the Command, the suspects collaborated to sell the newborn twins for N3 million, deviating from the N2. 3 million initially agreed upon with the babies’ mother, Chinenye Odoh.
The statement further elaborated that Ukorie Cynthia, the main suspect, purportedly poisoned Chinenye Odoh with corn after she rejected the N1.8 million offered to her as her share of the deal. The statement issued by DSP Daniel read, Following the consolidation and conclusion of investigations into a case of conspiracy, child trafficking, and murder, the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department of the Enugu State Police Command has today, 26/08/2022, arraigned in court, one Ukorie Cynthia aged 25, Onyia Pauline aged 56, and Aroh Ijeoma aged 39, all residing in Enugu.
The suspects, apprehended on 26/07/2022 by Police Operatives stationed at Central Police Station Enugu, have been remanded in Enugu Correctional Custodial Centre pending further proceedings. Their arrest followed a report alleging that they conspired to sell the newborn twins of Chinenye Odoh, aged 31, and subsequently caused her death by poisoning her food when she discovered the discrepancy in the amount received compared to the total sum the babies were sold for.
Investigations uncovered that Ukorie Cynthia harbored the deceased in her residence until she gave birth on 05/07/2022. Aroh Ijeoma facilitated the sale of the babies by contacting Onyia Pauline, a Nurse, who then connected then with a couple willing to purchase the infants for three million naira (N3,000000)
Contrary to this amount, Ijeoma informed Chinenye Odoh that the babies were sold for N2. 35 million and subsequently gave her N1. 8 million. Additionally, Cynthia and Pauline received N50, 000 each, while the rest of the proceeds were kept by Ijeoma.
However, upon learning the actual amount the babies were sold for, the deceased demanded the balance. Subsequently, she consumed a suspected poisoned corn given to her by Cynthia, leading to her demise.
