Hungry Woman Kills Farmer Over Failure To Allow Her Steal Plantain; See How It Happened
A desperate mother has landed herself into trouble in her quest to search for what her children are going to eat. The mother of nine children allegedly stabbed a female farmer to death over failure to allow her to steal plantain from her farm. The incident happened in a community in Rivers State. A mother identified as Esther Godday has been arrested by the Rivers State Police Command for allegedly stabbing one Mrs Imeran Idema to death. She was apprehended after the family of the deceased reported the murder case to the police. The suspect is a mother of nine children and she is also pregnant.
Esther allegedly sneaked into a farm in Agada village in the Abua area of the State and stole a bunch of plantains. She was desperately looking for ways to get food for her children who were hungry at home. The farm was owned by the family of Imeran and she was the one monitoring it. After cutting the plantain, Imeran caught her and told her not to move an inch.
The pregnant woman of nine took to her heels and Imeran chased her. Meanwhile, Imeran was holding a cutlass at the moment. While chasing the woman, Imeran used the cutlass to cut the woman’s leg. This infuriated the woman as she dropped the plantain and attacked Imeran. The woman collected the cutlass from her and machetes Imeran. The woman ran away when she realized that Imeran had sustained serious injuries and could not walk anymore.
Idema’ s scream during the fight attracted her family members who were near the scene but before they could get to the scene, Esther had already left. However, before Imeran died, she managed to tell her family the person who injured her and what led to it. The family reported to the police and Esther was subsequently arrested.
It was when Esther got to the police that she heard that Imeran had died. She was shocked after hearing the information. She expressed her remorse to the police while in custody, she said she wished and prayed that what she did could be undone.
