Remember how the top bank had stated that it intended to relocate some employees from Abuja to Lagos in order to improve office space efficiency and comply with building safety regulations?
To ” decongest” its head office, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is relocating five departments from Abuja, the country’ s capital, to Lagos.
Remember how the top bank had stated that it intended to relocate some employees from Abuja to Lagos in order to improve office space efficiency and comply with building safety regulations?
This was stated in a January 12th circular sent to all apex bank employees by the human resources department’ s director.
There have been differing opinions on the development; certain stakeholders, especially those from the north, are against it, while other stakeholders are in favor of it.
The CBN hasn’ t, however, indicated that it will retract its earlier statement. The Nation reports that the following departments are scheduled to relocate from Lagos to Abuja:
°. Banking supervision
°. Other financial institutions supervision
°. Consumer protection department
°. Payment system management department
°. Financial policy regulations department.
Meanwhile, because some of the apex bank’ s departments are moving, 1, 500 CBN employees are reportedly scheduled to return to work in Lagos State on Friday.
