Ondo: Why I chose Adelami as deputy gov — Aiyedatiwa
The Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has said that the choice of Dr. Olayide Adelami and Mr Tayo Oluwatuyi as Deputy Governor and Secretary to the State Government respectively was a right thing done by his administration.
The governor, who spoke on Friday at the Government House, Akure while meeting both Adelami and Oluwatuyi for the first time since their appointment, stated that he considered them highly qualified and well-equipped to carry out the responsibilities entrusted to them.
Aiyedatiwa disclosed that he received calls and messages from notable personalities, including traditional rulers and religious leaders, commending the appointment of the duo.
He said, “The time for a deputy governor has come, because the responsibilities have been immense, and I am grateful for the capable hands of Dr. Adelami and the prompt action of the SSG, Oluwatuyi, who has already begun his duties.
He added that the overwhelming reactions that greeted the nomination and appointment of the duo showed that he made the right choices for both positions.
The governor announced Adelami who was a former deputy clerk of the National Assembly as his deputy and Oluwatuyi as the SSG following the dissolution of the state Executive Council on Wednesday.
He had earlier dissolved the state Executive Council, sacking all the political appointees, appointed by the former governor, Late Rotimi Akeredolu.
