The Nigerian police command in the Federal Capital Territory FCT has revealed details of how they rescued family members of the late Al- Kadriyar and Ariyo, the girls who were killed a few days ago by their abductors after their family failed to pay the ransom the kidnappers demanded.
Recall that Al- Kadriyar and Ariyo were among the 23 kidnapped victims abducted on January 2, 2024, in the Zuma 1 area of Kawu, in the Bwari Area Council of Abuja. They were abducted alongside their siblings and mothers.
However, four out of the 23 abducted girls were killed, and their bodies were dumped on the outskirts of the FCT after their families failed to pay the N60 million ransom the kidnappers demanded. The kidnappers then raise the ransom to N100 million with the threat to kill the rest if the money is not sent.
The police have now rescued the rest of the victims. They have given details on how they rescued them right inside a thick forest in Kaduna known as Kaduru Forest. The police said they were rescued in the ‘ den in Kajuru forest in Kaduna State by a joint team of policemen and soldiers of the Nigerian Army on Saturday night.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, said the victims were rescued by the FCT anti- kidnapping squad in a concerted effort with troops of the Nigerian Army around 11 pm after they kept on chasing them from Abuja to the forest. They were forced to abandon the victims.
