HORROR IGBOLAND On Fire As Abia Govt Discover Schools And Tunnels Used For Mindless Kidnapping
Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has received praise from Commissioner of Police CP Kenechukwu Onwuemelie for his assistance to law enforcement in combating abduction and other crimes that have been reported in some areas of the state.
The Commissioner of Police made this statement over the weekend while escorting a group of ” Operation Crush” members and a few Abia State government representatives to two schools in the Lekwesi community in Umunneochi LGA that kidnappers had taken over.
During the Umunneochi excursion, a tunnel that kidnappers may have used to transport victims into the bush was found.
He claimed that the schools he saw had been abandoned for a long time and that renovating them would make it more difficult for criminals to use them as hiding places.
CP Onwuemelie added that because the area is so large, casualties might be concealed by using the culverts visible in the forested areas.
” Because, if you are not aware that those culverts are there and you are passing by, you just pass on on top. There is a possibility that any structure that provides cover can be used to hide kidnapped victims including the culverts but we must also tell you that in the past seven months, the challenge of kidnapping has been tackled very well in Abia State, ” he said.
