CRIMINAL In ASO- ROCK? Tinubu Under Pressure As Chief Of Staff, Gbajabiamila Is Indicated In Emefiele’s Corruption Probe
In a development that has sent shockwaves through the political landscape, President Bola Tinubu now faces a mounting crisis as his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, comes under fire amid allegations of corruption. Exclusive information obtained by SaharaReporters reveals a web of deceit and financial impropriety that implicates key figures, including Ahmed Kuru, Chief Executive Officer of the Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), and the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele.
According to sources close to the matter, Gbajabiamila is alleged to have benefited from the largesse of corruption orchestrated during Ahmed Kuru’ s tenure at AMCON. The intricacies of this alleged corruption are laid bare in a report by Special Investigator Jim Obazee, indicating that Gbajabiamila received properties in the affluent Ikoyi neighborhood during his tenure as Speaker of the House of Representatives. In return, he is said to have played a crucial role in securing Kuru’ s continued position as AMCON’ s Chief Executive, spanning approximately nine years.
Fresh revelations shed light on Emefiele and Kuru’ s involvement in what appears to be an abuse of office, using public funds to orchestrate the acquisition of Polaris, Keystone, and Union Banks. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) responded decisively, dissolving the boards of Titan Trust Bank, Union Bank, Polaris Bank, and Keystone Bank. This action was prompted by a report submitted by Investigator Jim Obazee, raising concerns about the financial irregularities surrounding these financial institutions.
