In a shocking turn of events, terrorists clad in hijab staged a daring attack on a police post in Saki Jiki village, Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State, as confirmed by the Katsina State Police Command.
During the assault that unfolded at 8 pm on Thursday, one valiant officer lost his life, while another sustained injuries in the line of duty. The grim revelation was shared by Abubakar Aliyu, the Katsina Police Public Relations Officer, in a statement released on Friday.
Aliyu detailed that the suspected armed bandits, camouflaged in hijab attire, ambushed officers at their duty post in Saki Jiki village. Despite the tragic outcome, he assured the public that law enforcement was actively and effectively managing the situation at the targeted post.
” Yesterday (Thursday) at about 8 pm, some suspected armed bandits, deceitfully dressed in hijab, attacked officers at their duty post situated in Saki Jiki village of Batsari Local Government Area. The officers responded bravely and successfully repelled the attack. However, one officer lost his life, and another was injured as a result of the attack, ” shared Aliyu, adding that further updates would be communicated in due course.
This alarming incident marks a resurgence in terrorist attacks within Katsina State, with Batsari Local Government Area experiencing at least two incidents this week alone. Last week, Kukar Babangida village in Jibia Local Government Area was targeted, resulting in the tragic deaths of nine residents, including the village head. The wave of violence continued on Sunday when bandits kidnapped three students from a private university in the state.
