The BBC investigation into allegations of sexual assault, physical abuse, fabricated miracles, against the founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, late Prophet TB Joshua, has been made a subject of discourse in the Nigerian online space.
While many Nigerians battle to believe the allegations against the late cleric, past statements by Nigerian former leaders have further complicated the matter.
In the eyes of late President Umaru Musa Yar’ Adua, late Prophet TB Joshua was nothing close to what he is being potrayed in BBC’ s documentary.
The late ex- President, a Muslim, had recognized and honored TB Joshua before he died.
TB Joshua, who narrated how it happened, said one day, the late President called him on phone and told him that he wants to honour him with an award because ‘ no man of God attracted foreigners in the country like he did’ .
The late cleric said he declined Yar’ Adua’ s request but the late President insisted that he must receive the honour.
TB Joshua noted that he was awarded the Officer of the Order of Federal Republic (OFR) by the late President.
” Even though the late President was a Muslim, yet he knew that God is using me, ” TB Joshua said during a sermon.
