Bullets, Corpses, Blood Littered Everywhere As Police, Robbers Battle Viciously, Many Killed In Cold Blood
It’ s finally a payback time for the unknown gunmen who carried out a bank robbery in the Otukpo community in Benue State.
As a result of the deadly bank robbery, some police operatives of the Intelligence Response Team and Special Tactical Squad were dispatched to collaborate with the Benue State Police Command to capture the criminals.
However, a manhunt launched by the security operatives yielded a positive result as five of the deadly gunmen who perpetrated the robbery in Otukpo were gunned down.
It was gathered that an investigation carried out by the security operatives led them to their hideout located at the Taraku community in the Buruku Local Government Area of the state.
Upon sighting the police operatives, the gunmen engaged them in fierce gun battle but they were overpowered by the cops and five of them lost their lives in the process. The police also apprehended four of the suspects while nine AK- 47 rifles were recovered from their hideout.
While reacting to the incident, ACP Adejobi Muyiwa who happens to be the Force’ s Public Relations Officer verified the occurrence of the incident.
He added that the arrested criminals had already admitted to the crime and linked other members of their gang who are already at large. The suspects confessed that the weapons they used in carrying out the robbery were supplied to them on loan by Pila Terlumum, Ayuko, both at large, and Terzungwe Shionda (now late).
