Another CALAMITY Hits Nigerian Soldiers After ATTACKING Gov. Sanwo- Olu; See What Army Chief Revealed
Some military personnel that attacked Governor Babajide Sanwo- Olu have finally landed in trouble following a statement released on Tuesday by the Chiefs of Army Staff (COAS) Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja.
It could be recalled that after ordering the arrest of a young man who claimed to be a soldier and was caught riding a motorcycle against the law of Lagos State, the Governor was subjected to a media attack by many suspected soldiers. They condemned the Governor’ s decision to arrest a military man, even though he is the executive Governor of the State.
Reacting to the development, the COAS said only one of those behind the videos was a soldier and had been arrested to face the consequences of his action. The Army Chief distances the force from the breaking of law and order by the soldier arrested by the Governor. He claimed that his action to go against the law did not in any way portray what the Army represents.
He said: ” The soldier that was apprehended while plying on a one- way does not represent the Nigerian Army. In every respect, it contravenes what we stand for which is discipline as an army, and it contravenes the constitution and the laws of Lagos and so we frown at that as the army. ”
According to him, although the videos in circulation show many people dressing in Army camouflage to attack the Governor, an investigation conducted by the force revealed that only one of them was a soldier and he had been apprehended.
