Finally Arrested, Chief Of Army Shares Good News, Claims Suspect Of Plateau Killings Have Been Apprehended, See The Suspects
The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Christopher Musa, has confirmed successful arrests of perpetrators involved in the Christmas Eve massacre in two Local Government Areas of Plateau State. This gruesome incident resulted in the brutal killing of over 200 Nigerians.
During an appearance on a Channels TV program, Gen Musa stated that the military is collaborating with state governments to reclaim communities captured by terrorists nationwide. He emphasized their commitment to ensuring that bandits do not hold any community, expressing confidence that these efforts would significantly reduce the number of internally displaced persons as people could return to their homes.
” We are working with the state governments to identify these areas; this year, God willing, we will make sure bandits hold no community, ” he affirmed.
Regarding the Plateau attack, Gen Musa described it as a deliberate attempt to embarrass and undermine the government. He assured the public that arrests were being made, emphasizing the vast area where the incident occurred and the challenges faced by the military in reacting promptly.
Responding to criticism about the military’ s delay in accessing terror- prone areas, he explained, ” We cannot be everywhere, ” emphasizing the limitations faced in deploying resources across such expansive regions.
