Omoyele Sowore, a human rights activist and the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2019 and 2023 elections, has called for the arrest and prosecution of the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, the former President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, the former Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, and Buhari’ s ” nephew” Tunde Sabiu, for their involvement in money laundering.
Sowore accused Buhari’ s administration of shielding Emefiele from justice because he was serving their interests, but now he has been exposed and abandoned by them. He also said that Buhari and Malami were still enjoying impunity, despite their corrupt practices.
Sowore, who is the leader of the #RevolutionNow movement, revealed that Sabiu had established an airline and owned the largest oil transportation vessel in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria. He also said that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had informed President Tinubu last week that Malami had amassed so much wealth from money laundering that even a novice investigator could find evidence.
Sowore made these allegations in a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday. He wrote, ” They shielded this criminal because he was carrying out their commands; now, he’ s left to shoulder the blame.
