Just In : Tinubu Reintroduces Programme Suspended By Buhari
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has instructed the reintroduction of the school feeding programme to address the issue of out-of-school children.
The program, suspended during the tenure of Ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, is being restored to combat the learning crisis.
Federal School Feeding Programme
Tinubu emphasized the importance of addressing the learning crisis, recognizing its role in tackling the challenges posed by out-of-school children.
The directive to reinstate the school feeding programme was revealed by the Minister of Education, Prof Tahir Mamman, during a one-day retreat focused on swift accomplishments in ministerial deliverables from 2023 to 2027.
As part of the directive, President Tinubu specified that the school feeding programme should be moved from the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and returned to the Ministry of Education. The retreat aimed to strategize on the effective implementation of policies developed to combat challenges related to out-of-school children and to assign responsibilities to various agencies involved in addressing the problem.
