Man Obsessed With Girlfriend Stabs Friend To DEATH Inside Hotel Room During BLOODY Fight; See What Actually Happened
A suspect known only by the name, Okereke has been apprehended and taken into custody by security operatives of ithe Ogun State Police Command after being accused sending his friend, Ibere Okorie to his early grave by fatally stabbing him with a broke bottle during a heated confrontation over a female lover (girlfriend).
Credible findings by local news reporters on Monday, 18th December 2023 revealed that, the above- mentioned tragic occurrence came to reality after Okereke and Okorie (two close friends) departed together from Ijebu- Ode on a business trip to Niger State.
Shedding more light on the case, a police source (name withheld) recounted that, the suspect, Okereke and deceased, Okorie decided to lodge at a hotel in Mokwa to pass the night due to the stress they faced during their journey, adding that during their stay at the hotel, a fight broke out between the two friends over a woman who is believed to be dating both of them.
The police source noted that, the argument got really serious and escalated into heated physical fight between two friends whereby Okereke picked up a bottle, broke it and used to stab Okorie in his stomach, causing him grievous harm which made him bleed profusely after which the suspect escaped from the hotel.
Unfortunately, some. moments later, the hotel staff decided to check on the duo and met the door unlocked but by the time they forced their way in after several unanswered responses to the knocks on the door, they met the victim, Okorie in pool of his blood which prompted them to rush him to a private medical facility in Mokwa. All this while, the suspect had already travelled back to Ijebu- Ode after fleeing from the scene.
Meanwhile, on getting the wind of this unfortunate occurrence, the family members of the victim rushed down to the private hospital and took him to another hospital in Lagos state for additional treatment as they weren’ t satisfied with the care given to him at the first hospital but as fate would have it, he was pronounced dead on 13th December, 2023 at the third hospital (Obafemi Awolowo Teaching Hospital in Ile- Ife) he was transferred to after being rejected at the second one.
In response to inquiries from local journalists, the Superintendent of Police, SP Odutola Omolola, the public relations officer (PPRO) for the Ogun State Police Command verified the tragedy and assured that the suspect has been hunted down and taken into custody with the help of credible sources.
” The corpse of the victim has been deposited at the morgue. We have interrogated all the parties involved. The suspect is currently in detention, and the investigation is ongoing” , the police spokeswoman, Odutola clarified on Monday, 18th December 2023.
