DEADLY Cultists Strike Again, Unleash Terror In Community, Butcher Someone With Cutlass; See What They Did Next
Over the weekend, precisely on Saturday 16th December 2023, a recent cult war is said to have resulted in the death of a man whose identity is yet to be identified in the Afobaje region of Obafemi Owode Local Government Area LGA, Ogun State as another victim named Kazeem Abiola appears to be critically wounded after getting shot during the bloody clash, luckily for him, he was rushed to the hospital and presently responding to treatment.
Credible findings by local news reporters revealed that, the unfortunate occurrence took place for two consecutive days starting on Friday and escalating to Saturday when a group of armed men suspected be cult members affiliated with the Eiye confraternity stormed the region in large numbers and opened fire on Abiola while the other unidentified victim was butchered to death after receiving a gunshot to the chest.
A resident of the region and eyewitness of the incident who was interviewed by newsmen but wants his name to remain private recalled that, the cult clash was between two deadly groups; the Alora and Eiye confraternities.
Narratively, the anonymous source explained that, ” the incident happened in the afternoon. What I saw was that some men who were on motorcycles stormed the area and they attacked two persons. There was panic as everyone was running for safety when we heard the gunshots. It was when the police arrived that we saw that two persons were shot. One of the victims was placed on a motorcycle but I doubt if he will survive the attack because he was bleeding profusely” .
” It has been a while since we last experienced a cult clash in this area and I think the guys are now back with their attitude. I wonder why someone will indulge in cultism. There are rumours that it was the members of the Eiye and Alora confraternities who were fighting” , he recounted.
Reacting to the incident, the Superintendent of Police, SP Omolola Odutola, the public relations officer (PPRO ) of the Ogun State Police Command, verified the tragic attack when called upon for comments, emphasizing that only one person perished and the other was presently undergoing treatment at a state hospital.
She claimed that, ” there was a suspected cult clash around the Afobaje area. One yet- to- be- identified male was shot and macheted on the left side of his chest. During the clash also, one Kazeem Abiola, a male, was shot below his abdomen and his leg but he is currently stable after receiving treatment at a health facility” .
Meanwhile, Odutola further revealed that CP Abiodun Alamutu, the Commissioner of Police, had issued a directive to his men to hunt down the escaping culprits, while appealing to the general public not to panic but to carry on with their regular lives fearlessly as the police are in control of the situation.
” The CP, Abiodun Alamutu, has been briefed and he has ordered an immediate manhunt for the perpetrators. There has been relative peace within Ogun State for a while now and the police will continue to ensure that lives and property of the good people of Ogun State are safe” .
” The CP has also ordered the deployment of officers to major highways especially as we approach the Yuletide season. Ogun citizens are hereby urged to remain peaceful and continue their daily activities without fear” , the police spokeswoman affirmed.
