SHOCKER ! Ohanaeze Shock Nigerians, Reveals Who Igbos Recognized As President
In a recent interview with Arise Television on Sunday, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the President- General of Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo, conveyed the collective acceptance of President Bola Tinubu by the Igbo community as the constitutionally elected President of Nigeria. While expressing this sentiment, Iwuanyanwu also appealed for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the deposed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
The continuous detention of Kanu by the authorities has been labeled as ” unconstitutional” by IPOB, asserting that self- determination is a legal right supported by United Nations laws and the Africa Union Charter, calling for a referendum. Iwuanyanwu, however, emphasized the need for Kanu’ s release during his consultation with Igbo leaders, citing the positive impact it could have on peace in the South- East region.
According to Iwuanyanwu, the release of Kanu would aid security agencies in distinguishing between criminals and law- abiding citizens, as he believes some individuals exploit Kanu’ s detention to carry out criminal activities in the Southeast. He noted that criminals outside Nigeria mobilize armed groups, declare sit- at- home orders, and disrupt business activities, causing economic hardship in Igbo land.
Highlighting the adverse effects of the sit- at- home directive on the region’ s economy, Iwuanyanwu expressed the hope that the restoration of normalcy would follow Kanu’ s release. He emphasized that leaders from the political and religious spheres in the Igbo community are united in their appeal for Kanu’ s freedom.
