UNEXPECTED SACKING! Tinubu Shocks Nigerians, Removes 6 Heads Of Agencies With Immediate Effect; See Those Affected
President Bola Tinubu has announced a major overhaul of the Aviation and Aerospace Development sector, with new appointments and suspensions of some heads of agencies. According to a statement by his media adviser, Ajuri Ngelale, the president made the changes to improve the performance and standards of the civil aviation industry in Nigeria, for the benefit of the flying public and other stakeholders.
The statement revealed that the president replaced the managing directors of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), as well as the director- generals of the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau and the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET).
The new appointees are: Olubunmi Kuku as the managing director of FAAN, replacing Kabir Mohammed; Umar Farouk as the managing director of NAMA, replacing Tayib Odunowo.
Alex Badeh Jr. as the director- general of the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau, replacing Akinola Olateru and Prof. Charles Anosike as the director- general of NIMET, replacing Prof. Mansur Matazu.
The president also appointed Joseph Imalighwe as the acting rector of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), pending the appointment of a substantive rector in line with the NCAT Act (2022). He takes over from Capt. Alkali Modibbo.
