AT LAST! Massive Jubilation Over Nnamdi Kanu Freedom As Tinubu Receives Powerful Message From US
The people of the South- Eastern part of the country might finally see their wish granted on Friday, December 15, following a call for the release of Nnamdi Kanu by prominent politicians in the United States.
Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, will appear again in court on Friday and many prominent people have been calling on the federal government to facilitate his release from the custody of the Department of State Services, DSS.
The political, traditional, and religious leaders in the South- East demanded the release of their son to put a stop to the insecurity in the region. However, in his words, Jarvis Johnson, a Democratic member of the Texas House of Representatives, said the issue is about respect for the rule of law, stressing that everyone expects the Supreme Court to order Kanu’ s release to comply with the existing judgement.
According to him, many courts of law had in the past few months ordered the release of the separatist, stressing that the high court of Enugu state held on October 30, 2023, that the classification of IPOB as a terrorist group by the GON and the southeast Governor’ s Forum contravenes Section 42 of the Nigerian constitution.
Therefore, Kanu committed no crime against the law and the Nigerian Government as stated by the high court in Umuhia, Abia state, and the court of appeals in Abuja.
