Police detectives in Ondo state have apprehended a 28- year- old ex- convict and internet fraudster, Fatai Bakare, in connection with the alleged murder of his father’ s 42- year- old tenant, Onyimi Grace, for ritual purposes. The arrest was made following a report of the victim’ s body being found concealed in a Ghana must- go bag by the suspect and kept in an uncompleted building close to the house and the landlord’ s residence.
According to a statement by the police spokesperson, Funmi Odunlami, in Akure, the state capital, the incident took place on the 8th of December, 2023, at the Ore division in Odigbo local government area of Ondo State.
The statement revealed that Onyimi Grace was discovered dead and concealed in the Ghana must- go bag, and Fatai Bakare, the landlord’ s son, was strongly suspected due to the presence of blood stains on his leg. Upon swift police intervention, the suspect had already fled the scene but was subsequently apprehended the following day while en route to Irele.
Initial investigations unveiled that the suspect, Fatai Bakare, has a history of being an ex- convict and is involved in internet fraud. Furthermore, the blood- soaked clothes found in the house were identified as the attire worn by the suspect on the day of the incident.
