This public declaration not only serves as a defense against the criminal label but also underscores Asari Dokubo’ s standing and influence within the Nigerian context.
He emphasised that he is not a nobody and that his Supreme Court case was a locus classicus under Nigerian law, which is defined as an authoritative section from a standard text that is frequently cited as an example or a classic case.
According to him, ” How can somebody be a criminal when he has never been convicted? I’ m the most trialed person in the history of Nigeria; they have tried me up to the Supreme Court. ”
