Violent Clash Erupts as Villagers Allegedly Attack Judge, Lawyer, Court Staff in over Land Dispute
In a disturbing incident in Degri, Balanga Local Government Area of Gombe State, several individuals, including a judge of the Upper Area Court III, Ayuba Buba-Dalas, Barrister Usman Yahya, and a court staff, were reportedly attacked by unidentified persons during a routine assessment related to a land dispute on Saturday.
The victims, who were conducting a physical assessment to determine the cause of conflicts arising from land disputes, faced violence during the process. Judge Ayuba Buba-Dalas, accompanied by Barrister Usman Yahya and a court staff, embarked on a tour to measure the land and ascertain the rights of the parties involved.
According to an eyewitness who spoke on condition of anonymity, the team was attacked by villagers as soon as they were spotted in the area. The villagers reportedly wielded weapons, escalating the situation into a violent clash.
