Kidnappers Abduct Wives of Local Government Chairman
In a distressing incident, two wives of Alhaji Nasiru Ahmad, the chairman of Kiyawa local government in Jigawa state, were reportedly abducted by unknown individuals believed to be kidnappers.
The abduction occurred in Kiyawa town, the administrative center of the Kiyawa local government area. According to reports, the criminals forcibly entered the chairman’s residence and abducted the two wives. They added an element of terror to the act by firing shots into the air, causing panic and confusion in the town as residents sought safety.
The abduction took place during the late hours of the night last Friday, as confirmed by SP Lawal Shisu Adam, the spokesperson for the state police command. While this criminal act created fear and panic among locals, thankfully, no injuries were reported.
In response to the incident, the state police command quickly mobilized a special police unit to rescue the kidnapped victims and apprehend the suspected abductors. The collaborative efforts of the police, other security agencies, and the public are aimed at ensuring the safe rescue of the abducted women.
