JUST IN: ANA inducts traditional ruler, ex-UniAbuja VC, 30 others as fellows
During the 2023 Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) international convention, 32 distinguished Nigerian writers were inducted as fellows. Among the inductees is King Bubaraye Dakolo, the Ibenanaowei of Ekpetiama Kingdom and Chairman of the Bayelsa State Traditional Rulers Council, and Professor Nuhu Omeiza Yaqub, former Vice Chancellor of the University of Abuja, among others.
The induction ceremony, held at the Mamman Vatsa Writer’s Village in Abuja, was presided over by ANA President Camillus Ukah. He emphasized that ANA fellowships are not for sale and are bestowed only upon those who have significantly contributed to Nigerian literature. He commended the inductees for their commitment to Nigerian literature and urged them to continue their efforts.
King Dakolo expressed his gratitude for the induction and promised that he and the other inductees would work diligently to further the goals of the association. He emphasized the importance of sharing the African, Nigerian, and Niger Delta stories through their work.
