Best Graduating Student at the department of Common law, University of Ilorin, UNILORIN, Adebinpe Azeezah Adedeji has been gifted a sum of N10,000 for her outstanding performance in the department.
The monetary award was seen in a now viral A4 paper which has the inscription of the University of Ilorin boldly written on it.
The institution is well known for ‘rewarding academic excellence’ from its inception, as this was confirmed by the incumbent JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede who is one of the illustrious alumni of the institution when he was quoted to have said that, he acquired a property from the money he got when he emerged as a scholar in his department.
A scholar who graduated from the department of History and international studies, Quadri Samson told this medium that, he got almost N100k and other perks for leading his class from his sophomore year till got to final year.
The university just concluded its combined convocations which has no fewer than 450 graduands who bagged first class honor, though this year ceremony was greeted with complaints from the graduating students accusing the Varsity of extortion, an allegation which the Varsity downrightly denied.
